Here is a sample sequence of yoga exercises suitable for the second trimester of pregnancy taken from Mel Campbell’s book ‘The Yoga of Pregnancy’ (Findhorn Press 2012).

  1. * Supta Baddha Konasana – Reclined Bound Angle Pose
  2. Cat Sequence – Practise the birthing breath with the movements
  3. Adho Mukha Svanasana – Downward Facing Dog
  4. ** Virabhadrasana I – Warrior 1
  5. ** Trikonasana – Triangle Pose
  6. ** Prasarita Padottanasana – Wide Angle Forward Bend with an Open Twist
  7. Kegel Exercises – Pelvic Floor Exercises
  8. Supported Upavista Konasana – Supported Wide Legged Forward Fold

* Perform as a supported reclined pose if you suffer from pelvic girdle discomfort

** Avoid these poses if you suffer from pelvic girdle discomfort
