Here is a sample sequence of yoga exercises suitable for the second trimester of pregnancy taken from Mel Campbell’s book ‘The Yoga of Pregnancy’ (Findhorn Press 2012).
- * Supta Baddha Konasana – Reclined Bound Angle Pose
- Cat Sequence – Practise the birthing breath with the movements
- Adho Mukha Svanasana – Downward Facing Dog
- ** Virabhadrasana I – Warrior 1
- ** Trikonasana – Triangle Pose
- ** Prasarita Padottanasana – Wide Angle Forward Bend with an Open Twist
- Kegel Exercises – Pelvic Floor Exercises
- Supported Upavista Konasana – Supported Wide Legged Forward Fold
* Perform as a supported reclined pose if you suffer from pelvic girdle discomfort
** Avoid these poses if you suffer from pelvic girdle discomfort
