Speaking our Truth

As we open up to the possibility of saying ‘YES!’ can we also learn to say ‘No’?

My 2 year old daughter has just learnt to say ‘NO’,its often referred to in the parenting world as that ‘Dreadful word’ orĀ  the ‘Terrible two’s’.
However, I am looking at her in awe, as she sets her boundries, is learning to know what she wants and doesn’t want and is speaking her truth.

Sometimes as adults we are so caught in our lives, trying to please people and situations , that we often forget to listen to our own needs.

Having my own Yoga Practice is a way of reminding me to listen to my feelings, emotionally and physically and to respond to these inner callings.

As I move and connect with myself, respecting and being honest to how I feel that particular day, I begin to fully appreciate who I am and deserve to be, as I speak my truth with my practise.

Over the years, I have pushed my body, with a strong practice when I was tired, injured… and yet all my body really wanted to do was rest in Supta Baddha Konasana and breathe.

So as I open up to the possibility of saying YES to new challenges – both on and off the Yoga mat – it is just as important (if not more) for me to learn to say NO, in order for me to speak my truth.
